Box Score BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team was defeated by Bluefield College in a non-conference game 5-2 Friday night at the East River Soccer Complex.
Bluefield College netted two goals in the first 25 minutes of the game to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.
The Mountain Lions cut into the deficit with sophomore midfielder
Maximillian Simpson scoring his fourth goal of the season in the 58
th minute. But, the Rams got goals in the 66
th and 69
th minute to expand their lead to 4-1.
Freshman midfielder
Xander Bailey tallied his first career CU goal in the 85
th minute right after BC had added another goal.
Bluefield College held a small advantage in total (16-14) and shot on goal (10-4).
Senior goalkeeper
Mitchell Thompson made five saves for the Mountain Lions.
