BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team fell in three sets Saturday afternoon to West Virginia Wesleyan (25-22, 25-9, 25-18) at the Rockefeller Center in Mountain East Conference competition.
West Virginia Wesleyan (9-15, 3-7 MEC) led throughout the first set as Concord (7-20, 5-5 MEC) came close to overtaking the Bobcats but couldn't quite get over the hump in the first game.
WVWC cruised to a second-set win after jumping out 19-4 and winning 25-9.
In the third set, CU took a 14-8 lead in the early going with freshman middle hitter

However, West Virginia Wesleyan ran off nine straight points to take a 17-14 lead on its way to a 25-18 third set win.
Pranckus notched seven kills while Heck added six for Concord.

CU steps out of conference play for the final time this season when it travels to Winston-Salem State 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
