Box Score FERRUM, Va. – The Concord University men's soccer began its season with a scoreless tie against Ferrum University at Penn-Roediger Field in Ferrum, Va.

Cameron Russell had two of the Concord shots on goal as he came off the bench for the Mountain Lions. Freshman midfielder

Alex Rhodes registered the other shots on goal for CU. Junior goalkeeper
Henry Boyle, who was making his Concord debut, posted a shutout by saving three shots for Concord.
Russell's shots on goal came within three minutes of each other in the 38
th and 41
st minutes after he entered the game in the 23
rd minute. By playing in Saturday's game, Russell is now two appearances away from tying Varney Vincent for eighth all-time on the career games played list.
The Mountain Lions were able to keep Ferrum out of the goal for the entire second half while playing a man down after two yellow cards were given to junior midfielder
Eduardo Filho in the first half.
For the game, the Mountain Lions held an advantage in shots on goal (4-3). The Panthers held edges in total shots (15-5) and corner kicks (15-5).
The Mountain Lions will stay on the road for their next game against Bluefield College Monday night beginning at 5 p.m.
