Wheeling Jesuit Statistics ATHENS, W.Va. – Looking to build off its four goal-goal performance against Urbana, the Concord University men's soccer team will clash with Wheeling Jesuit Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on the road.
RECORDSThe Mountain Lions will head to WJU with a record of 1-4-1 overall and 1-2 in Mountain East Conference play. Meanwhile, the Cardinals have a record of 3-4 overall and are 1-3 against MEC teams.
MOUNTAIN LION NOTES• Freshman midfielder
Royale Johnson led Concord to its first win against Urbana by scoring two goals and taking a team-high five shots on goal.
• Prior to Wednesday's game, Johnson had only registered three shots on goal in Concord's first five games.
• Junior goalkeeper
Mitchell Thompson has been stellar for the Mountain Lions since being inserted into the starting lineup three games ago.
• Thompson has stopped 11 of the 14 shots he has faced this season and has six saves in each of his last two contests.

Jared Garlow and junior midfielder
David Nwankwo all netted their first career goals for the Maroon and Gray in the 4-1 win against Urbana.
• After halftime, Concord has able to hold its opponent to one goal over a six-game span. In the second half, the Mountain Lions have outscored their opponents 3-1.
• CU will be seeking to score three or more goals in back-to-back games for the first time since Oct. 19 and 21, 2012 when the scored three goals in consecutive against King University and Washington Adventist.
• The time the Mountain Lions scored four or more goals in two straight games was during the 2010 season when they scored six against Salem International and followed it up with a five-goal effort versus Virginia Intermont.
SCOUTING WHEELING JESUIT• Cardinals goalkeeper Cody Thompson has made the most saves in the MEC with 34 and is second in goals against average (.97).
• Wheeling Jesuit has never lost to Concord, owning a 0-7-2 mark against CU.
• Aitor Iniguez De Heredia is third in the MEC in shots per game with 3.3 per game.
