Concord Drops Road Contest at Shepherd

Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – The Concord University lost to Mountain East Conference foe Shepherd in three sets (16-25, 19-25, 23-25) Saturday afternoon.

The defeat drops the Mountain Lions to 8-6 overall and 0-2 in MEC action.

Senior setter Nikki McMillan tallied 11 of Concord's 23 assists for the match. Freshman setter Casey Mandeville collected seven assists for CU.

The attack leader for Concord was senior middle hitter Sarah Jones, who finished with seven kills while committing just one error. The Woodbridge, Virginia native also had eight total blocks including three solo blocks, both season highs.

Freshman middle hitter Shea Hoffman matched a career-high with six total blocks and set a personal-best with two solo blocks. Additionally for Concord, senior outside hitter Brytni Willis recorded eight digs and four kills.

Willis and senior libero Amanda Walker came away with two aces each.

The Mountain Lions will travel to nationally-ranked Wheeling Jesuit to continue MEC league play next Friday night at 6:00 p.m.
