ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team will step out of Mountain East Conference competition to travel to Chowan at 3:00 p.m. Saturday.

MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
CU goes into Saturday's game with a record of 0-3-1.

Junior goalkeeper Mitchell Thompson has started the last two games for the Mountain Lions, recording nine saves in those contests.

For his career, Thompson has made 146 stops and ranks first all-time at Concord in career saves.

With an appearance in Saturday's game senior defender Cole Cloonan would tie former Mountain Lion Ryne Shuff for fourth all-time on the career games played list at 57.

Additionally, fellow senior defender Cameron Russell would tie Varney Vincent for eighth in career games played by seeing action Saturday. Russell has played in 41 career games at Concord.

Freshman midfielder Royale Johnson sits 10th in the MEC in shots per game with 2.5 shots per game. Over his last two contests, Johnson has fired five shots.

The matchup with Chowan will be the first time the two schools have ever met.

In fact, the Mountain Lions have never faced a current member of Chowan's conference, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
SCOUTING CHOWAN
The Hawks enter competition Saturday with a record of 3-2

Concord and Chowan have both faced Shepherd this season. The Mountain Lions lost 1-0 in overtime while the Hawks fell 4-2 to SU.

Terrell Williamson has already scored a team-high eight goals for Chowan this season.
