ATHENS, W. Va. – Fresh off of splitting a four-game series at Shepherd University, the Concord University baseball team remains on the road for a pair of Mountain East Conference doubleheaders at Urbana University March 22-23.

Records and Standings
• Concord enters the weekend leading the Mountain East Conference standings at 13-5 overall and 10-2 in league play. Concord remained fourth for the second consecutive week in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's Atlantic Regional Rankings and 29th in the nation College Baseball Lineup's top-30 poll.
• Urbana, which has played just eight games this season due to weather cancelations, is 5-3 overall and 4-2 in MEC competition. Most recently, UU split a two-game series against Glenville State College.

• Concord is a perfect 3-0 all-time against Urbana.
Last Meeting
• Concord scored seven runs in the first four innings and
Ryan Weatherholtz gave up one run over six innings in relief to lead the Mountain Lions to a 7-6 nine-inning victory Feb. 27, 2011. Weatherholtz is the only active Concord player to have played against the Blue Knights.
Mountain Lion Notes
• 30 of Concord's 105 runs, 28.6 percent, this season have come in in the first inning of games.
• The Mountain Lions are 9-1 when scoring in the first inning of games and 12-1 when leading after four innings.
• As a team, Concord leads the MEC in fielding percentage (.969), runs scored, hits (105), RBI (94), triples (five) and home runs (six) while also ranking second in doubles (28), second in stolen bases (36), third in batting average (.313), third in slugging percentage (.420) and fourth in on-base percentage (.379).
• Senior first baseman
Joey Miller leads the MEC and ranks eighth in the nation slugging percentage (.833), 20th in batting average (.483) and 21st in home runs (five). He is also atop the conference leaderboard in hits (29), RBI (26) and is tied for first with teammate junior second baseman
Jerrod Groves in doubles at six.
• In addition to leading the league in doubles and ranking fourth in hits (21), Groves shares first place in the conference in runs scored at 16 with fellow Mountain Lion junior third baseman
Ryan Johnston.

Zach Kelly (2-1) have combined to throw 75.5 percent of CU's innings played this year. Through 18 games a season ago, Concord's starters accounted for just 50.1 of the team's innings pitched.
• Weatherholtz continues to be the staff's workhorse with an MEC-best 33 innings pitched and three complete games, the 11th most in NCAA Division II.
• C. Kelly threw the first complete game of his collegiate career in Concord's 4-1 victory over Shepherd in game one on March 16.

Chris Baker has allowed no runs and just two hits while picking up a team-high two saves in his last four appearances, a span of 5.2 innings pitched.
• Sophomore shortstop
Brad Sullivan enters the Urbana series on a six-game hitting streak, just one behind Miller's seven-game hit streak for the current team lead.
Scouting Urbana
• Urbana boasts the last two MEC Hitters of the Week in Enmauel Lopez and Roman Gammell. The duo has combined to produce 14 RBI, nine runs, 16 hits and two home runs this season.
• Jose Vargas leads the Blue Knights in batting average (.600 / 15-for-25), hits (15), RBI (10) and on-base percentage (.656).
• Nick Bozman is 2-0 on the season with a 0.82 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 11 innings pitched. Relief pitcher Jeff Beall is 2-1 in three appearances.
The Coaches

Andrew Wright is in his fourth season at Concord. Since taking over the program, Wright has guided the Mountain Lions to a pair of conference titles and a record of 102-78.
• Urbana is coached by Mike Goldschmidt who is 113-116-1 in six seasons in charge of the Blue Knights' program.
