Mountain Lion Notes
• At halftime of the CU – UVa.-Wise game, Concord will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 1988-89 team's West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament championship.
• With a minimum of two games remaining in the 2013-14 season, junior guard
Mike Boyd needs to make 13 free throws to be ranked 10th for foul shots made in a single-season at Concord. On the year, Boyd is shooting a team-best 76.2 percent from the charity stripe.
• With 34 minutes played in the next two games, Boyd, who averages a Concord-best 31.7 minutes played per game this season, will pass his brother Cordale Boyd for the 11th most minutes played in a season. The elder Boyd played 889 minutes in the 2007-08 season.
• Freshman guard
Aaron Miller made four three-pointers in Concord's most recent game Feb. 26 against Charleston for the rookie's sixth multi-three pointer game of the season. For the year, Miller's 50.0 percent (28-for-56) rate from three-point range ranks second in the MEC behind West Liberty's Segar Bonifant (55.1 percent).
• Sophomore forward
Terry Hopewell continues to close the season on a high-note. The Columbus, Ohio native is coming off of a 12-point, seven-rebound, two-block performance against Charleston and is averaging 11.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game in Concord's last four contests.
