ATHENS, W. Va. - The Concord University women's basketball team will play its final two road games of the regular season when they travel to Charleston Thursday and West Virginia State Saturday in games that will have an impact on seedings for the upcoming MEC Tournament.

MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
• CU enters play this week with a record of 9-12 overall and 7-10 in the Mountain East Conference.

• Concord currently sits in ninth place in the league standings. If the season ended today, the Mountain Lions would travel to Wheeling Jesuit for the first round of the MEC tournament.

• Charleston is 14-7 overall and 10-7 in league play, sitting in fifth place.

• Meanwhile, West Virginia State is 14-9 overall and 10-7 in MEC action. The Yellow Jackets are one spot behind UC in sixth.

• Junior forward Andrea Bertrand needs 23 points and 23 rebounds to reach 1,00o points and 500 rebounds, becoming the sixth player in CU history to accomplish the feat.

• Over Bertrand's last five games, she is averaging 23.8 points per game (ppg) while shooting 58.4 percent from the field (45-for-77).

• Additionally, Bertrand's next double-digit scoring game will be the 50th of her career.

• Junior guard Rachel Artrip has scored at least 10 points in six of her last eight games. She is averaging a season-high 11.5 points per game with her recent scoring outburst.

• Against Wheeling Jesuit on Feb. 8, the Concord bench tied a season-high with 24 points led by junior guard Melea Smith scoring 10 points and sophomore guard Leslie Mack adding nine points.

• Smith tied a career-best with three three-pointers against the Cardinals in a personal-high 27 minutes off the bench.

• Mack scored all nine of her points from behind the arc, connecting on 3-of-6 three-point attempts

• Four different CU players begin the week of play ranked in the top-10 in numerous statistical categories in the MEC.
Bertrand ranks in ppg (19.1 / third),  rebounding (7.9 / sixth), field goal percentage (.530 / fifth), offensive rebounding (3.1 / fourth) and minutes played (34.0 / eighth).

• Junior guard Sissy Wagner places in ppg (14.5 / tenth), assists (5.1 / first), three-point percentage (.403 / seventh), assist-to-turnover ratio (2.09 / second) and minutes played (35.3 / third).

• Senior center Sammi Webster ranks in blocked shots (1.1 / sixth) and field goal percentage (.547 / fourth).

• Junior forward Jacqueline Kestner rounds out the Mountain Lions ranked among the league's best, placing seventh in offensive rebounding with 2.9 per game.

• Kestner also leads Concord in steals at 1.6 per game. She has had at least one steal in a team-best 14 consecutive games.

• The Blountville, Tenn. native also has 11 mult-steal games this season, including three of her last four contests.

• CU will be looking for its second straight win over W. Va. State. Earlier this season, Concord won 76-67 at home.

• Webster led the way for the Mountain Lions with her first career double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds.

• In the previous matchup with W. Va. State, Wagner scored a game-high 20 points on 6-for-9 shooting and passed out seven assists.

• Before hosting Concord on Saturday, West Virginia State will play UVa.-Wise. CU leads the all-time series with WVSU 24-16.

• CU will be looking to snap  a three-game losing streak against the Golden Eagles. UC leads the all-time series 29-11.
Head coach Kenny Osborne will be seeking his 200th career win at CU.

A CONCORD WIN WOULD ...
• A Concord win against either Charleston or West Virginia State would give head coach Kenny Osborne his 200th career win as coach of the Mountain Lions.

• A win against Charleston would snap a three-game losing streak against the Golden Eagles.

• A win against W. Va. State would make it two straight over WVSU.
