WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Concord University women's basketball game team lost a non-conference battle to Tarleton State, 79-59, Tuesday afternoon in the consolation game of the Rollins Tournament.
TSU went up on Concord 10-2 in the early stages of the contest. After falling behind 26-7 with 8:31 remaining in the first half, CU closed the gap to 28-14 as senior forward
Rachel Artrip scored five of the seven points for the Maroon and Gray during the stretch. However, Tarleton State led 46-26 at halftime.
The Mountain Lions could not get any closer than 18 points in the second half as they fell 79-59. Concord did finish the contest on an 8-0 run with senior forward Jacqueline Kester scoring all eight points, hitting two three-pointers.
Artrip finished with a team-high 16 points while Kestner missed out on her sixth double-double of the season with 14 points and eight rebounds as she was named to the all-tournament team.

Melea Smith both finished with nine points. Junior forward
Kylie Molisee led the Mountain Lions in rebounding with nine.
CU held edges in steals (8-6) and blocks (5-3). Freshman guard
Lindsey Overbey had a career-high two blocks for Concord.
TSU was led by Karli Moore, who matched Artrip with 16 points.
Concord will play its home opener January 3 against West Liberty.
