Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - The Concord University women's dropped a 3-1 road decision against Shepherd Wednesday afternoon at the SU Soccer Complex in Mountain East Conference action.
Concord is 4-4-3 after the loss and 2-3-3 in MEC play while Shepherd is now 6-5-1 overall and 4-4 in league games.
Senior midfielder
Stacey Calder netted her fourth goal of the season just six minutes into the contest to push Concord out to an early lead. Calder's goal was assisted by sophomore midfielder
Margot Provencher.
However, 46 seconds after Calder's goal, the Rams knotted the contest at 1-1 with a goal of their own. Shepherd wasn't down scoring as they scored in the 14th minute and also added an insurance goal in the 73rd minute of play.
Calder and Provencher had the only shots on goal as the Mountain Lions were outshot 17-3 in total shots and shots on goal 4-2. Shepherd held the advantage in corner kicks 5-0.
Concord will welcome conference rival West Virginia Wesleyan to Anderson Field Sunday afternoon at 12:00 p.m.
