ATHENS, W.Va. - The Concord University women's soccer team fell to the University of Charleston, 2-1, at Anderson Field in its final game of the season Wednesday afternoon.
After UC scored in the 24th minute of the game to take an early 1-0 lead, junior forward
Kari Simon buried her team-leading ninth goal of the season. Freshman forward
Kalyn Fauntleroy registered her first career point by assisting on Simon's goal in the 39th minute.
After the next 38 minutes would go without a goal, the Golden Eagles netted the game-winning goal in the 87th minute to lift Charleston to a 2-1 win.

Lacie Geisel made five saves in the loss. Simon led the Mountain Lions in shots on goal with three while senior back

Sami Spertzel each tallied a single shot on goal.
For the game, Charleston recorded more shots (13-9) and corner kicks (3-2), but the teams finished even in shots on goal (7-7).

Concord concludes the season 5-8-4 overall and 3-7-4 in the Mountain East Conference.
