Concord Downed by West Virginia Wesleyan

Box Score ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University women's soccer team could not overcome a two-goal halftime deficit as they fell to West Virginia Wesleyan, 4-0, Sunday afternoon at Anderson Field in Mountain East Conference action.

Senior back Abby Barber, senior midfielder Stacey Calder, junior forward Kari Simon and senior midfielder Sami Spertzel all had one shot on goal for the Mountain Lions.

Redshirt freshman Lacie Geisel and freshman Kaitlyn Hanrahan split the goalkeeping duties for the Mountain Lions as they made two saves each.

For the game, West Virginia Wesleyan held advantages in totals shots (12-8), shots on goals (8-4) and corner kicks (3-2).

The Mountain Lions will look to snap their small two-game losing streak at West Liberty Wednesday. Game time is slated for 3:00 p.m.
