Box Score ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball held off a furious comeback attempt against Notre Dame College to win in five sets (25-10, 25-15, 24-26, 23-25, 15-13) Friday night at the Carter Center.
The five-set win was Concord's second of the season and the victory improves the Mountain Lions' record to 10-9 overall and 2-5 in Mountain East Conference. Notre Dame is 5-12 overall and 3-4 in conference action.
After cruising through the first two sets without much resistance from the Falcons, CU appeared to be on its way to a sweep of Notre Dame in three sets. However, the Falcons fought back to win the third set 26-24.
In the fourth set, Concord fell behind 19-16 to NDC, but was able to put pressure on the Falcons by tying the game at 23-23. NDC stormed back to win the final two points forcing a fifth and deciding set.
The final set featured seven ties and three lead changes. With the match still hanging in the balance and tied at 10-10 in the final set. Concord scored three straight with a kill each from senior middle hitter

Brytni Willis followed by a Notre Dame attack error.
Jones was able to put the match away with a clinching kill to give Concord a 15-13 win in the fifth set and a 3-2 win for the match.
Jones and Willis both recorded 23 kills to pace the Mountain Lions. Jones matched a season-high with 23 kills while hitting .389 for the match.
Meanwhile, Willis hit .309 and it was the first time the Silver Spring, Maryland has hit over .300 and recorded 20 kills this season.

Lisette Roldan finished with her first career double-digit kill game as she tallied 10 kills.

Nikki McMillan and freshman
Casey Mandeville split the primary setting duties for Concord as they finished with 32 and 24 assists, respectively. In the process, both set a new personal-best in assists. Additionally, McMillan was one of three CU players to finish with a double-double as Jones and Willis also had double-doubles.

Amanda Walker finished with a team-high 16 digs.
The Mountain Lions will have a quick return to the court as they host Urbana Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
