ATHENS, W. Va. - The Concord University men's basketball team will look to snap its four-game losing streak with a pair of wins when it hosts the University of Charleston in Mountain East Conference play 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Carter Center followed by a trip to Fairmont State Saturday.

MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
• The Mountain Lions enter Thursday's game sitting 10th in league standings at 5-7 overall and 2-4 in the MEC.
• Charleston comes to the Carter Center with an overall record of 6-4 and a league mark of 3-3 that slots the Golden Eagles fifth in the MEC standings.
• After Thursday's contest, the Mountain Lions will travel for a Saturday game at Fairmont State, which is 8-3 overall and a 3-2 conference record.
• After not playing a game since Dec. 16, Concord started 2014 by dropping a tightly-contested contest at No. 1 West Liberty 97-92 on Jan. 4 before falling 100-72 at Wheeling Jesuit on Jan. 6.
• The Mountain Lions rank third in the league in three-point shooting at 38.1 percent (77-for-202).
• Leading the way in three-point shooting for Concord has been freshman guard
B.J. Hamlet at 46.7 percent (28-for-60).
• Hamlet knocked down six three-pointers vs. WLU. He has made at least three three's in five of his eight games played this season.
• In MEC games alone, Hamlet has made a league-best 3.8 three-pointers per game.
• CU is 4-1 when leading at the half.
• Junior guard
Mike Boyd's name can be found throughout the MEC leaderboard. He currently ranks seventh in the league in assists (4.3 per game), seventh in minutes played (33.8 per game), 12th in field goal percentage (.545), 13th in assist/turnover ratio (1.32), 15th in free throw percentage (.746) and 19th in points per game (14.1).
• Boyd also needs just 11 assists to get to 300 for his career, which would be the 13th most in Concord history.
• Sophomore forward
Terry Hopewell is the league's second-leading shot blocker with 18 rejections on the season (1.5 per game).
• In the Mountain Lions' narrow five-point loss at No. 1 West Liberty, Hopewell grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds to go with 19 points for his first double-double of the season.
• In conference games this season, Hopewell ranks second in the league in field goal percentage at 69.2 percent.
• Junior guard A.J. Williams also secured his first double-double as a Mountain Lions against West Liberty after going for 14 points and a career-high 11 rebounds as well as a personal-best seven assists.
• Williams has scored 10 or more points in four of Concord's last five games.
• Sophomore guard
Cam Shannon is averaging 11.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game over CU's last four contests.
• Two bright spots in Concord's loss at Wheeling Jesuit was the play of reserve freshmen guards
Aaron Miller and
Ryan Meadows.
• Miller played a season-high 17 minutes and scored 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting from three-point range.
• Meadows made a pair of three-pointers and converted all six free throw attempts to finish with 12 points.
• The Mountain Lions continue to shoot their free throws exceptionally well in the closing moments of games. With less than three minutes to play in games this season, Concord is 33-for-38 (86.8 percent).
• Concord's games against Charleston and FSU part of a three-game in five day stretch; CU also plays Shepherd on Jan. 13.
A CONCORD WIN WOULD…
• A win over Charleston would snap Concord's six-game losing streak to the Golden Eagles dating back to the 2010-11 season.
