ATHENS, W. Va. - After having its win streak snapped Monday night against Bluefield State, the Concord University women's basketball team will look to get back its winning ways at Mountain East Conference foes UVa.-Wise on Thursday and No. 11 Glenville State on Saturday.

MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
• Concord picked up a pivotal Mountain East Conference win Saturday against West Virginia State to lift its league record to 5-5.The win places the Mountain Lions seventh in the MEC along with a 7-7 overall record after Monday night's loss against Bluefield State.

• UVa.-Wise's record is 7-7 overall and 3-7 in league play.

• Glenville State's record stands at 14-2 overall and 9-1 against MEC competition. The Pioneers are currently ranked 11th in the nation by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

• In Saturday's win, senior center Sammi Webster collected her first career double-double with a 13-point, 12-rebound performance against the Yellow Jackets.

• Webster remains third in the conference in field goal percentage at 60.4 percent (55-of-91).

• Junior forward Andrea Bertrand maintained her spot among the top scorers in the MEC with 18.1 points per game, good enough for third.

• Bertrand is now just 150 points away from becoming the 15th CU player to score 1,000 points in her career.

• Webster is just two blocks shy of cracking into the top-10 for rejections in Concord career. She currently has 37 blocks. Sarah Blevins (2006-11) had 38.

• Webster has registered at least one block in eight games this season.

• Junior point guard Sissy Wagner has dished out an average of 6.4 assists per game (apg) over her last five contest and is ranked first in the MEC and seventh nationally in apg at 5.7 for the season. 

• Wagner has been a consistent scorer for the Mountain Lions as well, averaging 14.8 points per game, the 12th highest average in the MEC.

• Wagner and Bertrand appear in several MEC leaderboards. Wagner ranks in minutes played (fourth / 36.1), three-point percentage (ninth / .391), assist-to-turnover ratio (second / 2.09) and free-throw percentage (fourth / .848).

• Meanwhile, Bertrand places in rebounding (eighth / 7.4), field goal percentage (ninth / .513) and offensive rebounding (fifth / 3.2).

• As a team, CU ranks fourth in the MEC in scoring defense at 71.1 points per game. Since the start of 2014, seven games total, the Mountain Lions are surrendering just 66.7 points per game

• The success on defense has come from Concord's ability to turn its opponent over and take care of the ball. The Mountain Lions are forcing an average of 18.5 turnovers in the last seven games while only making 13 mistakes themselves.

• The Mountain Lions rank second in the MEC in turnover margin at 2.5 trailing only Glenville State. Meanwhile, Concord is third in the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio at .9.

• Earlier in the season against Glenville State, junior guard Rachel Artrip passed out a career-high seven assists.

• Bertrand posted a career-high with 32 points on 65.2 percent shooting (15-of-23) against the nationally-ranked Pioneers. She also matched a career high with 12 boards vs. GSC.

• Junior forward Jacqueline Kestner will enter the UVa.-Wise game with a streak of eight games with at least one steal. Against West Virginia State, Kestner came away with a career-high four steals.

• Concord and UVa.-Wise have only meant twice on the hardwood with one meeting taking place last season. The Cavaliers came away with a 70-61 win on Nov. 27, 2012

• Concord's other game with UVa.-Wise was in 2002-03 with CU winning, 56-41.

• The Cavilers are led by Makenzie Cluesman who averages 12 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. She also plays 36.1 minutes per game.
