The Rams managed a 45-39 halftime lead after an opening period that featured six ties and three lead changes. Shepherd went on to increase its halftime lead to a seemingly commanding 11-point advantage at 74-63 with 8:29 left to play.

However, Concord continued to chip away at the Rams' edge and found itself down just one point (79-78) after a 15-5 run with 1:27 remaining in regulation. The run was highlighted by seven consecutive points off the bench from freshman guard Aaron Miller, who finished the night with nine points.

The two squads proceeded to trade baskets over the final minute of the second half. Concord had control of the final possession down 82-80 with 18 seconds to play when Boyd drew a foul and calmly connected on a pair of free throws to tie the contest at 82-82 and force overtime.

However, the comeback was not to be as the Rams went on to outscore Concord 15-12 in overtime to secure the victory.

Sophomore forward Terry Hopewell was Concord's fourth player in double figures with 10 points.

Leading Concord's rebounding charge was sophomore forward Nick Moyer, who grabbed a career-best 13 boards in addition to scoring eight points and matching Boyd for the team lead in assists with four.

The 13-rebound effort marked just the seventh time since the 2010-11 season that a CU player had grabbed at least 13 rebounds in a game.

The Rams were led by Brantley Osborne, who went for a game-high 24 points and six rebounds.

The Mountain Lions return home to host MEC rival West Virginia State 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the Carter Center.
