MOUNTAIN LION NOTE
• The Mountain Lions are coming off of a 5-11-2 season in 2012. However, Concord ended the campaign on a high-note by going 2-1-1 over its final five games of the year.

• Leading the way for Concord in 2013 will be its two-man senior class of Sebastian Escobar and Tyler Farrar. The duo has combined to play in 103 games in their Mountain Lion careers. Farrar has played in a team-high 29 consecutive matches.

• Concord also brings back four of its top five goal scorers from a season ago in sophomore Ryan Forde (five goals), sophomore Isaac Jordan (four goals), Farrar (three goals) and sophomore Joe Sweet (two goals).

• Jordan, who also tallied three assists on the season to finish with 11 points total on the year, earned second team All-West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors for his efforts as a freshman.

• Sophomore goalie Mitchell Thompson also returns after starting 13 of 14 games played as a freshman and posting a record of 4-9-1 with one shutout, 63 saves and a goals against average of 2.64.

• Additional returners from 2012 include sophomore Kris Robins (one goal), junior Cameron Russell (one goal), sophomore Troy Silva (one assist), junior Cole Cloonan (18 starts) and sophomore Tyler Harris (14 starts).

• New to the program this season are freshman goalie Trevor Hoxworth, freshman Corey Gaylor, freshman Matheus Morgan, sophomore Zach Keaton, sophomore Steve Lemire and sophomore David Nwankwo.

• Four of Concord's defeats in 2012 were one-goal losses.

• The Mountain Lions played some of their best soccer last year on the road, compiling a record of 4-4-2 in away matches compared to a 1-6-0 record at home.

• Concord's 2013 roster features players from four countries (United States of America, England, Brazil and Columbia) and eight stats within the USA (West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan, Ohio, Florida and Tennessee).

• The Mountain Lions' roster is also made up of mostly underclassmen thanks in no small part to a 14-man sophomore class. The only upperclassmen on the team are Escobar, Farrar, Russell and Cloonan.

• Concord's contest against Ferrum will be the first meeting between the two schools.

• Findlay and Concord have played twice with the Oilers holding a 1-0-1 advantage over the Mountain Lions.

• Concord was picked to finish seventh in the Mountain East Conference in 2013 behind 1. Charleston, 2. Notre Dame, 3. West Virginia Wesleyan, T4. Wheeling Jesuit, T4. Urbana and Shepherd.

• 2013 will mark the first season of competition for the Mountain East Conference.

• Ferrum is already 2-0 on the season. The Panthers have defeated Bluefield College, 4-3, in two overtimes to begin the season as well as Virginia Intermont, 3-1, in its second contest.

• Through two games, Ferrum has been led by Aaron Gustine, who has two goals and one assist on the season. Five other players have also scored goals this season. Joseph Martin and Justin Robinson have each started a game at goalie with Martin picking up both wins having allowed just one goal while stopping eight out of nine shots faced.

• Before arriving in Athens, Findlay will open its season at Lewis. In 2012, Findlay went 6-9-1 overall and 3-9-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
