WHEELING, W. Va. – A late Wheeling Jesuit second half goal proved to be too much to overcome for the Concord University women's soccer team as the Mountain Lions fell 2-1 to the Cardinals Saturday in Wheeling, W. Va.
The match was evenly played throughout, with Wheeling Jesuit holding a narrow edge in shots (14-12) and Concord holding the advantage in corner kicks (4-0).

The match remained tied for the following 20 minutes of action until Geary was able to score her second goal off of a header at 71:58. The Mountain Lions got off two more shots in the final 18 minutes of play, but were unable to find the equalizer as WJU managed to escape with the one-goal victory.
Barber's goal was her fourth of the season. She now leads Concord with 10 points overall this year, having collected either a goal or an assist in five of CU's eight games. The assist was the first of Cole's career.
For the game, Barber and Cole tied for the team-lead in shots with four apiece. The quartet of sophomore forward

Wasylko, who was making her second start of the season, stopped five shots in the losing effort.
The loss, Concord's second in a row drops the Mountain Lions' record to 3-4-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the Mountain East Conference. Wheeling Jesuit improves to 4-5-0 overall and 3-2-0 in conference play.
Concord will look to snap its losing streak when it hosts Charleston 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in what will be only the second home game for CU this season.
