ATHENS, W. Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team will aim to end its two-game losing streak with a victory over Wheeling Jesuit 3:00 p.m. Saturday in Mountain East Conference competition.

SCOUTING CONCORD
At 2-4-1 overall and 0-2-1 in MEC play, the Mountain Lions are currently sixth in the conference standings. CU is 0-2-1 in its last three games with a tie at Shepherd (0-0) while losing at West Virginia Tech (5-0) and at Urbana (4-0).

Concord's match at Wheeling Jesuit will cap off its season-long four game road trip. The Mountain Lions play six of their final nine games this year at Anderson Field, where they are 2-2-0 in 2013.

Despite Concord's recent offensive dry spell, sophomore midfielder Ryan Forde is still tied for the MEC lead in goals scored at four. Forde has taken three shots in Concord's last four games.

Freshman back Matheus Morgan and sophomore back Alex Williams are tied for the team-lead in assists with two. The duo's assist total is also good enough to be part of a nine-way tie for second place in the MEC.

Freshman goalie Trevor Hoxworth earned the first start of his career at Urbana and made a personal-best eight saves in the loss. Fellow goalie sophomore Mitchell Thompson, who has started Concord's other six games this season, already ranks sixth in Mountain Lion history with 90 career saves. He needs just seven more stops to pass current CU assistant coach Matt Hamilton for fourth place all-time.

Senior midfielder Tyler Farrar had two of his eight career assists in Concord's 4-4 tie against Wheeling Jesuit in 2010.

After its weekend contest at Wheeling Jesuit, the Mountain Lions return home to face MEC rival Charleston Oct. 1 at 4:00 p.m.
