Men’s Golf Places Second at OVU Invite

MARIETTA, Ohio – Senior Evan Muscari earned medalist honors and the Concord University men's golf team placed second overall at the Ohio Valley Invitational in Marietta, Ohio Monday.

The Mountain Lions finished the two-round event at +39 (599), just nine shots behind tournament champion Davis & Elkins (+30 / 590). Rounding out the event's top-five behind D&E and Concord were Mercyhurst (+49 / 609), Wheeling Jesuit (+50 / 610) and Fairmont State (+53 / 613).

Muscari took home top individual honors after shooting a +3, 143. Muscari turned in respective scores of 73 in the first round and 70 in the second round.

Junior Patrik Leveau joined Muscari in the top-10 by placing ninth at +10 (150). Leveau posted duplicate rounds of 75 to pick up the top-10 finish.

Senior Matt Morgan was Concord's third finisher in 12th place. Morgan registered a score of 151 (+11) with the highlight of his weekend being a 72 in the first round, which was the lowest of any golfer on day one.

Freshman Brady Noland placed just outside the top-20 at 21st overall by shooting a +15 (155). Rounding out the Mountain Lions' golfers was junior Phill Campbell, who placed 60th at +55 (195).

Concord returns to action Sept. 28-30 at the MEC Northern Regional in Moundsville, W. Va.
