Men's Soccer Drops Decision to West Virginia Tech

Box Score MONTGOMERY, W. Va. - The Concord University men's soccer team lost to West Virginia Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon, 5-0

On the afternoon, freshman goalie Trevor Hoxworth stopped seven shots that came his way. Hoxworth relieved starting sophomore goalkeeper Mitchell Thompson 28 minutes into the game. Before exiting, Thompson saved one shot.

Offensively for the Mountain Lions, they put four shots on goal with sophomores Ryan Forde and Alex Williams, senior Sebastian Escobar and freshman Corey Gaylor registering one shot apiece.

WVU Tech was able to take a 3-0 lead before halftime before netting two goals in the second half.

With the defeat, Concord's record now stands at 2-3-1 on the season.

The Mountain Lions will resume the Mountain East Conference portion of their schedule on September 24 when they travel to Urbana. Start time for the match is schedule for 5:00 p.m.
