The Mountain Lions (13-16, 1-3 WVIAC) rallied from a 5-0 deficit after the opening three innings to cut UVA-Wise's lead down to just one run at 7-6 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning.

However, the Cavilers were able to add an additional insurance run in the inning and retire three consecutive Concord batters in the seventh to hang on to the two-run victory, 8-6.

Gleason led the Mountain Lion attack by going 3-for-5 with one home run, two RBI and two runs scored while also stealing one base. Gleason, who has a team-high 11 multi-hit games on the year, has been held hitless in just seven games this season.

Game Two: Concord 9 - UVA-Wise 11

Concord once again played from behind in game two as UVA-Wise took another 5-0 lead in the first three innings. Despite scoring runs in three consecutive innings, Concord still found itself trailing by six runs (11-5) going into the seventh inning.

But Concord continued to battle back, posting four runs in the final inning to cut the UVA-Wise lead down to just 11-9 thanks to a two-run triple from Mack, a sacrifice fly from Morris that scored one run and a RBI-single from sophomore Brantlea Wood.

However, CU's rally ended when Wood was thrown out trying to stretch her single into a double for the game's final out.

As a team, Concord totaled 13 hits in game two with five players accounting for two hits each. Wood was 2-for-4 with a team-high three RBI. Mack and Morris both registered two RBI as well. Sophomore Jessica Seymour went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, her second of the season.
