ATHENS, W. Va. - The Concord University women's basketball team looks to close out its regular season on a high-note heading into the WVIAC Tournament with wins against No. 12 Glenville State on Thursday and in its home finale against Bluefield State on Saturday.

•Concord enters its final two games of the season with an overall record of 7-19 and a WVIAC mark of 24-2.
• Glenville State is currently ranked 12th in the nation at 24-2 overall and 19-1 in the conference. GSC has clinched the WVIAC regular season championship and a first-round bye in the WVIAC Tournament.

• Glenville State has won seven of its last 10 games against Concord and is 25-9 vs. Concord since the 1994-95 season.
Scouting Concord
• Junior guard
Amanda Smith has scored in double figures in four of the last five games, averaging 14.6 points per game over the time frame.
• Sophomore guard Stephanie Wagner dished out eight assists against WV State and is averaging 6.0 assists per game in the last five match-ups.
• For the year Wagner ranks third in the nation in assist/turnover ratio (2.64).
• Wagner also ranks 14th in the nation in assists per game at 5.2, which is the most by a CU player since current assistant Jamie Cluesman averaged 7.3 assists per game in 2007-08.
• Senior guard
Katy Somerville has made 13 of her last 25 three-point attempts. For the year, Somerville has made a team-high 40 three-pointers.
• Sophomore forward
Jacqueline Kestner ha recorded five double-doubles on the season. She currently ranks 18th in the league in rebounding at 6.3 rebounds a night.
• Smith, who ranks 12th in the WVIAC in free throw shooting, made a career-best nine free throws on 11 attempts against West Virginia State.
• Senior guard
Tanisha Williams had her best scoring performance since November when she went for 15 points and five assists vs. West Virginia State.
• Junior center
Sammi Webster leads CU with a field goal percentage of 46.4 and 17 blocked shots.
• Concord's 13.8 turnovers per game ranks 11th in the nation.
• The Mountain Lions are 6-3 when leading at halftime this year.
Scouting Glenville State
The Pioneers rank at, or near the top, of virtually every statistical category in the WVIAC. GSC leads the league in points per game (96.0), scoring margin (+18), steals per game (14.35), turnover margin (+6.69) and rebounds per game (54.0).
Leading the way for Glenville State has been Ginny Mills, who averages 17.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game.
The Coaches
Concord head coach
Kenny Osborne is 202-192 overall in 14 seasons as a Division II women's basketball coach and is 190-177 in his time at Concord. Thursday's game is a return home for Osborne, who graduated from Glenville State in 1986.
Bunky Harkleroad is 88-29 in four seasons at Glenville State.

After Concord's game at Glenville State Thursday, the Mountain Lions will return home to host Bluefield State 4:00 p.m. Saturday. Concord will then play in a first round WVIAC Tournament game Tuesday, Feb. 26 against an opponent to be determined and at a site that is still to be determined.
