ATHENS, W. Va. – The Concord University women's soccer team went toe-to-toe with the top team in the Mountain East Conference, but couldn't quite come away with the upset victory as Notre Dame College hung on to defeat Concord, 1-0, Saturday afternoon at Anderson Field.
Despite the loss, Concord remains in contention for the fourth and final spot in the upcoming MEC Tournament thanks to West Liberty's 3-0 victory over Wheeling Jesuit.
With one game remaining in the season, the Mountain Lions (6-8-2, 4-7-2 MEC) can clinch a postseason berth with a win over Charleston coupled with a West Virginia Wesleyan defeat of (or tie with) Wheeling Jesuit (5-9-3, 4-6-3 MEC).

For the game, Notre Dame held advantages over Concord in both shots (13-7) and corner kicks (8-1).
With the win, Notre Dame clinched to the top seed in the MEC Tournament and improved its record to 14-1-0 overall and 12-1-0 in league play.
Saturday's matched marked the final home games in the careers of Woo Ling and back
Nikki Jarrell. Both seniors were recognized prior to the game for their contributions to the program during their careers.
Concord heads to Charleston 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in what is a must-win contest.
