• With eight conference contests remaining in the season, Concord is currently slotted fifth in the MEC standings with Charleston and West Virginia State right behind CU in sixth and seventh place, respectively.
MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
• Concord has lost just once thus far in the month of October. Four out of Concord's last six victories have been 3-0 triumphs with the remaining two matches being four-set victories.
• On the year, Concord is 8-7 in three-set matches, 4-3 in four-set matches and 1-0 in five-set matches.
• As a team, Concord leads the MEC in aces (154) while ranking second in opponent attack percentage (.133), third in total blocks (183) and fourth in attack percentage (.198).
• Individually, five Concord players find themselves ranked in the league's top-10 in several statistical categories. Junior setter
Amanda Walker leads the league in aces (39), senior middle hitter
Jasmin Sutherland is second in attack percentage (.329), junior middle hitter
Sarah Jones is sixth in kills (217), junior setter
Nikki McMillan is seventh in aces (30) and junior outside hitter
Brytni Willis is eighth in kills (209).
• Sutherland is making her final season in Athens one to remember. In addition to her outstanding attack percentage, which would be a Concord single-season record if the season ended today, Sutherland is also on pace to set career-highs in kills and blocks. She currently leads the Mountain Lions in blocks with 74 and ranks third in kills at 149.
• Walker is just five aces away from setting a new career-high, she had previously served up 44 aces as a freshman in 2011.
• Jones and Willis both went over the 200-kill mark in a season for the third consecutive year with their performances in wins last weekend against Notre Dame College and Urbana.
• After recording just eight blocks in her previous six matches, freshman middle hitter
Lauren Richardson registered a combined nine blocks against Urbana and Notre Dame College.
• A win over Charleston would snap Concord's four-match losing streak against the Golden Eagles. The Mountain Lions will also be looking to reverse its recent trend against West Virginia State; Concord is just 1-4 against the Yellow Jackets since 2009.
