ATHENS, W.Va.—The Concord University men's soccer team will be action with two home games beginning Wednesday with non-conference opponent Bluefield College. The Mountain Lions will jump back into Mountain East Conference play against Wheeling Jesuit Saturday.

RECORDS and STANDINGS
The Mountain Lions enter Wednesday's game with at 3-8-1 overall and 1-6-1 in MEC competition. Concord defeated Shepherd last week 2-0 with the help of two goals from sophomore
Ryan Forde.
Over the weekend, they traveled to Buckhannon to square off with West Virginia Wesleyan. The Bobcats beat CU 2-0. In the loss, goalkeeper
Mitchell Thompson saved 11 shots.
Concord sits in sixth place in the MEC. They trail fourth place Urbana by seven points with four conference games left to play.
SCOUTING CONCORD
Bluefield College and Concord last played during the 2012 season.
The Mountain Lions defeated the Rams 2-0.
Cameron Russell scored the game's first goal on an assist from
Tyler Farrar. In the last five meetings between the schools, CU is 4-1.
Earlier in the season, Concord lost to Wheeling Jesuit 5-2. Forde and Russell scored the Mountain Lions goals in the contest. Matt Guilliams and
Isaac Jordan also registered shots on goal in the game.
Thompson turned away three shots. Jordan and sophomore
Patrick Ebbs registered the shots on goal for CU.
Forde ranks second in the MEC in goals scored on the season with seven. He trails Notre Dame's Adam Mitchell by three. Defenseman
Alex Williams is tied for second with three other players for assists on the year.
Thompson continues to move the all-time career saves list. Heading into the final stretch of the season, he ranks third with 115. He needs nine saves to pass Jamie Greenwood. Meanwhile, Forde ranks fifth in goals with 12. He trails fourth place by seven.
As for single season marks, Thompson is ranked eighth in saves with 52 on the year. He needs just 11 saves to climb into the top five. Forde is in a three way tie for tenth on most goals scored in one season. He needs three goals to move into sole possession of fifth place.
