ATHENS, W. Va. - The Concord University women's basketball team will play the first of two road games in three days 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Bluefield State. Concord enters the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest having split its last two games, defeating Wesleyan and losing to Charleston.

MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
Records: Concord brings a 3-8 overall record and a 2-3 mark in WVIAC action into the weekend. Bluefield State, which had won its last four games, is 5-4 overall and a 3-2 in league play.
Series: Concord owns a 24-12 advantage in the series and has won the last 13 meetings against Bluefield. Concord has not lost to BSC since 2005-06.
Scouting Concord: The Mountain Lions' attack received a shot in the arm vs. Charleston as junior forward
Andrea Bertrand returned after missing the last nine games to score a career-high 30 points and grab 11 rebounds for a double-double. Bertrand scored 22 of her points in the second half.
• Senior guard
Tanisha Williams also suited up vs. UC for Concord after missing three games. She totaled five points, four steals, three assists and two rebounds in just 17 minutes.
• Junior guard
Amanda Smith, who is the WVIAC's 18th leading scorer (14.1 ppg), is shooting 51.2 percent (20-for-39) from the field in her last three games.
• Sophomore guard Stephanie Wagner leads the WVIAC in assist/turnover ratio.
• Concord comes into the game with the league's best turnover margin at +5.2. CU has forced its opponents into a 19.6 turnovers per game while committing just 14.5 miscues of its own.
Scouting Bluefield State: BSC is led by Charity Harris and Charlene Digg, the WVIAC's ninth and 13th leading scorers at 15.1 and 15.0 points per game, respectively. As a team, BSC leads the WVIAC in field goal defense (34.6 percent) and ranks second in scoring (80.0 ppg).
The Coaches: Kenny Osborne is 198-181 overall as a head coach and 186-166 in his time at Concord. James Oliver is in his third season at Bluefield State and has compiled an overall record of 15-48 in his time in charge of BSC.
