ATHENS, W. Va. - The Concord University men's basketball team will look to bounce back from its recent 66-50 setback vs. Charleston with a victory at Bluefield State 4:00 p.m. Saturday. At 6-3, a win over BSC would give CU its best 10-game start to a season since the 2003-04 squad started 8-2.

MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
Records: Concord has won three out of its last five games to bring its overall record to 6-3 on the year and 2-3 in WVIAC play. Bluefield State is still in search of its first win at 0-9 overall and 0-5 in league play.
Series: Concord owns a 35-14 advantage in the series since 1993-94 and has won seven of 10 against BSC. CU is 12-5 at Bluefield since 2002-03.
Scouting Concord: The Mountain Lions average 76.4 points per game while holding opponents to 74.9 ppg.
• Concord's +8.3 rebounding margin is the third highest in the WVIAC. Opponents average just 29.6 rebounds per game vs. CU, the lowest in the conference.
• Junior forward
Nick Ruffin carried over his solid play at WV Tech into the Charleston game, finishing with season-highs of 14 points and two blocks to go with six rebounds.
• Ruffin is averaging nine points and eight rebounds per game over Concord's last two contests.
• Sophomore guard
Thomas Brown ranks eighth in the WVIAC in three-point shooting (45.2 percent) and has made five of his last nine three-point attempts. He is averaging 15.8 ppg over his past four games.
• Concord is 5-0 this season when it leads at halftime.
• CU has made 48-for-56 from the foul line in the final three minutes of games this season.
• Senior forward
Damien Tunstalle is just 261 points away from becoming the 33rd player in CU history to score 1,000 points. He needs to average just over 15 ppg to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
• Tunstalle has made 13 of his last 14 free throw attempts.
• Bluefield State is led by Vincent Rogers, who averages 16.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
The Coaches: Former Concord standout
Kent McBride is in his second season in charge of the Mountain Lion program. He has tallied a record of 23-15 in his time in Athens. Jamaal Jackson is 1-35 in two seasons at Bluefield State.
