Women’s Soccer Loses, 2-0, at A-B

PHILIPPI, W. Va. – The Concord University women's soccer team was defeated on the road by Alderson-Broaddus Saturday. The Battlers defeated the Mountain Lions 2-0.

Concord (1-5-1, 1-3-0 WVIAC) was led by Alyanna James, who took a team-high two shots Saturday. Abby Barber, Erika Hoff, Kari Simon and Sami Spertzel also recorded shots for the Mountain Lions.

Goalie Kaitlyn Wasylko stopped five shots and allowed both goals in the defeat.

Both of Alderson-Broaddus' goals came in the second half. Olivia Augustine broke the 0-0 tie at 54:10. Nicole Lehman added an insurance goal off of a header at 60:04 to put A-B (4-3-1, 2-1-0 WVIAC) up 2-0.

Coming into today's game Concord had won three consecutive contests vs. Alderson-Broaddus.

The Mountain Lions take the field again when they host Charleston Sept. 25 at Anderson Field. The match is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start.
