SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. - The Concord Unviersity volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Friday at the WVIAC-PSAC Crossover. CU lost to Shippensburg 3-0 and 3-2 to Kutztown. Concord's record now stands at 3-8 on the season.
The Mountain Lions played Shippensburg close in all three sets, but could never quite get the best of the Red Raiders, falling 25-20, 25-23 and 25-20.
Concord quickly fell behind Kutztown two sets to none after the Golden Bears came away with 25-19, 25-21 victories to begin CU's second match of the day. Concord responded by winning the next two sets by scores of 25-23, 25-15 to force a fifth and final set. However, the Mountain Lions' comeback fell just short as Kutztown won the final set 15-13 for the 3-2 victory.
Sarah Jones,
Brytni Willis, and
Nikki McMillan ended up with double-doubles during this five set match. Jones grabbed 15 kills, 13 digs, three aces, and two blocks. B. Willis had 25 digs (career-high) and 14 kills. McMillan zipped in 19 aces and 19 digs, both career-highs.
Lindsey Smith also nabbed a career-high 36 digs as well as 2 kills.
Amanda Walker blew away her career-high with 21 aces.

Concord will conclude its time at the WVIAC-PSAC Crossover when it plays East Stroudsburg 9 a.m. Saturday.
