Women's Soccer Topped by UPJ, 4-0

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - The Concord University women's soccer team was defeated 4-0 Wednesday by Pitt-Johnstown in West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action. 

CU's record drops to 0-4-1 overall and 0-2-0 in the WVIAC. UPJ improves to 4-1-0 overall and 1-0-0 in conference play.

Concord was scored on by an unassisted shot from Jackie Becerra in the first half at 11:16. Becerra got the second goal for her team as well, giving UPJ a 2-0 at the half.  In the 75th and 76th minute, UPJ was able to score their last two goals to make the final score 4-0.

CU's Erika Hoff took a season-high four shots in the match. Alyana James also added a season-high three shots on the day. Even with that effort, Concord was outshot by the Mountain Cats, 21-12.

Mountain Lion goalkeeper Kaitlyn Wasylko made seven saves Tuesday for a .636 save percentage.

Concord will be back in action Sunday when they host WVIAC rival Shepherd. The start is scheduled for 12 p.m. at Anderson Field.
