MUSCARI POSTS CU'S TOP SCORE

Concord's men's golf team remains in 19th place after Wednesday's second round of the NCAA Division II National Championships in Simpsonville, KY.

The Mountain Lions totaled a 307 team score Wednesday, seven shots better than their first round.

Evan Muscari (left) posted CU's best individual round, firing a 74 on the par-72, 7036-yard Cardinal Club course in suburban Louisville.  Muscari's two-day total of 153 puts him in a group of players tied for 80th place on the leaderboard, along with teammate Nathaniel Begley, who shot a 79 on Wednesday.

Wednesday's second-best round came from Sebastian Starud, who carded a 76 to leave him at 160 for the tournament, tied for 100th place.  Matt Morgan followed a 77 Tuesday with a 78 Wednesday, tying him for 89th at 155.  Taylor Reilly is in 106th place after a second-round 84 put him at 170.




The third and final round of stroke play at the Championships scheduled for Thursday, May 17.  The top eight teams advance to two days' worth of match play starting on Friday, May 18.
