MEN'S GOLF: STILL IN IT

CU IN 4th PLACE AFTER 1st ROUND OF SOUTHERN REGIONAL

Concord's men's golf team remains in contention halfway through the WVIAC Southern Regional, the only conference tournament of the spring season.

The Mountain Lions posted a 315 in Monday's first round of the two-round event at the Berry Hills Country Club in South Charleston, WV.  That puts CU in 4th place out of 13 teams, 18 shots back of the University of Charleston, the first-round leader.  Bluefield State is in second place and Davis & Elkins is in third.  West Virginia Wesleyan is a shot behind Concord in 5th place.

Matt Morgan's 76 was CU's best round of the day, putting him five shots back in the Medalist race.
Nathaniel Begley fired a 77, while Nathaniel Begley and Sebastian Starud each shot an 81.  Taylor Reilly carded an 84.




Concord's tee time for the second and final round tomorrow will be 9:20 am.
