ATEHNS, W. Va. - Winners of its last two games, the Concord University men's basketball team will take its winning streak on the road to West Virginia Wesleyan Saturday for a West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference showdown with the Bobcats.
MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
• Since the 1993-94 season, the series between Concord and West Virginia Wesleyan is practically even with the Mountain Lions holding a slight 15-14 lead. Wesleyan has won the last four contests including last year's 74-65 win at Concord.
• Concord ranks in the top six of the WVIAC in three-point percentage (third - .407), rebounding margin (fifth - +4.8), scoring defense (sixth - 73.5), field goal percentage (sixth - .476).
• Sophomore guard 
Thomas Brown had a breakout offensive game in Concord's win vs. West Virginia Tech on December 3 with a season-high 23 points.
• Senior forward 
Damien Tunstalle, CU's leading scorer (20.0 ppg) needs to average 15.3 ppg over the remainder of the season to become the 33rd 1,000-point scorer in Concord history.
• Sophomore forward 
Jordan Davis has been one of CU's most of efficient players this season. In addition to leading Concord in rebounding (6.5 rpg), Davis is scoring 11.5 ppg off of a .630 field goal percentage, which ranks fifth in the WVIAC.
• Sophomore guard 
Mike Boyd, who scored a career-high 18 points vs. WV Tech, is averaging 4.8 assists per game, the seventh-most in the conference.
• As a team, Concord is shooting 86.7% (26-30) from the foul line in the final minute of games this year.
• Wesleyan is 3-2 overall and 1-2 in the WVIAC. The Bobcats are coming off of an 82-72 win over Glenville State. In five games, Wesleyan has been led by Noah Cottrill and Kelsey Williams. Cottrill has scored 14.6 ppg and Williams nearly averages a double-double at 13.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per night.

The Coaches: Concord is led by 
Kent McBride, who is in his second season in charge of the men's basketball program. McBride is 22-13 as a head coach.
Patrick Beilein is five games into his first season as West Virginia Wesleyan's head coach. Before taking the Bobcats' job, Beilein was the director of basketball operations at Bradley in 2011-12.
