Concord to Host Lincoln Memorial Thursday

ATHENS, W. Va. - In what will be the final home game of 2012, the Concord University women's basketball team is set to host Lincoln Memorial 5:30 p.m. Thursday in a non-conference contest at the Carter Center.

Mountain Lion Notes
• The Mountain Lions and Railsplitters have not met since the 2003-04 season. Lincoln Memorial leads the all-time series 4-0.

• Concord has lost its last four games overall. However, all four contests have been close with the Mountain Lions losing by an average of just 6.7 points.

• Freshman guard Leslie Mack has provided a spark off the bench for Concord in the Mountain Lions' last two games. Mack has averaged 16.5 points per game in the contests with 17 points at West Virginia State and 16 points against Virginia Intermont.

• Before being inserted into the starting lineup against Intermont, junior guard Logan Castlebury scored a season-high 15 points at West Virginia State.

• Sophomore guard Stephanie Wagner ranks third in the WVIAC in assists per game (4.5).

• Senior guard Katy Somerville set a career-high with five assists vs. Virginia Intermont while matching previous bests of 11 points and four steals.

• CU has been a second half team this season, scoring 299 points in the second half compared to 206 in the first half.

• Concord leads the WVIAC in turnover margin at +5.75. The Mountain Lions have forced its opponents into over 20 turnovers in three out of their last four games. CU has yet to commit more turnovers than its opponents in a game this season.

• LMU is coached by Concord alum Roger Hodge. His team has lost its last two games and is 4-4 on the year. Lincoln is led by MaRanda Boddie, who averages 10.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game.

The Coaches: Kenny Osborne is in his 13th season as Concord's head coach. Osborne has tallied a record of 185-164 (.530) at CU. With record of 197-179 (.524) in his career, Osborne is just three wins shy of 200 career victories.

In 35 games at Lincoln Memorial, Hodge is 18-17. Since graduating from Concord, Hodge has had success as both an assistant and head coach on the Division I and II levels. As a head coach Hodge is 156-114 as a head coach with the majority of his victories coming at Armstrong Atlantic where he was 138-97 in eight seasons.
