ATHENS, W. Va. – The Concord University volleyball team had its undefeated record at home broken Friday night when Alderson-Broaddus came away with a 3-1 victory over the Mountain Lions at the Carter Center.

The loss drops Concord's record to 8-12 overall and 2-3 in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Alderson-Broaddus kept its perfect conference mark intact, improving to 7-12 overall and 3-0 in the WVIAC.

Rebecca Lovejoy led Concord with 10 kills on the night, followed by Brytni Willis with nine and Sarah Jones with seven. Willis totaled a team-high 19 digs, falling just one kill short of the double-double. Jasmin Sutherland and Kylie Perdue both notched four kills apiece as well. Sutherland led CU with three blocks.

Amanda Walker and Nikki McMillan guided the offensive attack with 22 and 15 assists, respectively. The setting duo also served two aces each.

After losing the opening set to the Battlers, Concord took the second set with a 25-18 victory before falling in the third 25-16 and losing a heartbreaking fourth set 25-23.

Concord travels to take on WVIAC foe Glenville State Oct. 11 at 6:00 p.m. before returning home to start a two-game homestand on Oct. 15.
