Volleyball Splits at Lock Haven Triangular

Concord University volleyball came out even during the Lock Haven Triangular, 1-1. Saturday afternoon they faced and took the win from Virginia Union University, 25-9, 25-19, 25-12. Their next opponent, Lock Haven University bested CU in three, 25-12 ,25-14, 25-11.

Sophomore middle hitter Sarah Jones and sophomore outside hitter Brytni Willis earned match-high kills against Virginia Union with nine each. Willis also defended the backrow with a match-high nine digs. Sophomore libero Lindsey Smith dug eight balls. Junior defensive specialist Allie Pennington served up two aces for the Mountain Lions.

Willis also worked for match-high kills against Lock Haven with five and digs, six. Smith also grabbed six digs during CU's second match of the triangular.

The Mountain Lions will return to West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on October 26th against Ohio Valley. The match is scheduled to begin in Vienna, WV on 7:00 p.m.
