ATHENS, W. Va. - Senior day proved successful for Concord University men's soccer on Friday afternoon at Anderson Field. The Mountian Lions beat King College in a tough non-conference match-up, 3-2, improving their record to 4-10-1.
CU came out on top early in the first half with a season-first goal from Sophomore forward
Caleb Bone at 2:36. Junior midfielder
Tyler Farrar nailed a great ball from the corner to Bone for his third assist of the season.
Retaliation from King College came during the thirteenth minute with a goal from Pete Griffith. Griffith netted another goal before the end of the half to put King College up, 2-1.
Concord answered back during the second half with 13 of their 24 totals shots during the match. They held King College to just three shots in the second half, 10 total.
Freshman midfielder
Kris Robins scored his first goal of the season, unassisted to tie it up with King College at 58:39, 2-2.
Senior forward
Richard Vincent had an opportunity at 61:08 off a penalty kick to give CU the lead and he converted. Vincent netted his sixth goal of the season to secure the victory for Concord.

Mitchell Thompson earned the victory after 45 minutes of play and two saves. Senior goalkeeper
Matt Hamilton also recorded two saves, allowing two goals.
Concord University returns to action on the road against Washington Adventist University on Sunday, October 21st. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. in Takoma Park, MD.
