Saturday was the first full day of autumn.

But for the Concord Men's Soccer team, it felt a little bit like winter.

The Mountain Lions saw Shepherd quickly snowball a one-goal lead into a three-goal advantage, as the Rams downed CU 5-3 in a WVIAC match on Saturday afternoon in Shepherdstown, WV.

Shepherd took the day's first lead on Kyle Ransom's unassisted goal in the 15th minute. Concord squared the match with an unassisted goal in the 28th minute.

The 1-1 score held until the 2nd half, when the Shepherd snowball began to roll.

Kevin Doyle broke the tie with an unassisted goal in the 54th minute. Shane Lowery added another goal in the 57th minute. Alex Cruz capped the outburst with a goal in the 63rd minute, and the Rams led 4-1.

Jacob Wise pulled CU within 4-2 with an unassisted goal just 19 seconds later. But Shepherd restored a three-goal lead when Lowery scored again, in the 76th minute.

The Mountain Lions pressed the attack and got within 5-3 on Garith Duncan's goal in the 88th minute, but CU ran out of time.
