Sometimes, the difference between victory and defeat is in the bounces of the game.

Concord's Women's Soccer team got the biggest bounce of the day in defeating Pitt-Johnstown 1-0 Saturday afternoon in a WVIAC match at Anderson Field.

The match's only score came on a rebound. Tori Faulkner got it, in the 24th minute, just seconds after Alyssa Hessian's shot deflected off the goal post.

The goal, in the 24th minute, stood up. As a result, the Lady Lions rebounded from Wednesday's frustrating 1-0 defeat to West Virginia Wesleyan to grab their first victory of the season.

The two sides matched up well -- Pitt-Johnstown tried 14 shots, Concord 13; UPJ tried two corner kicks to one for CU; both teams committed 12 fouls.

UPJ had a 10-6 edge in shots on goal, but CU goalkeeper Kacey Hildebrand negated that advantage by recording an impressive ten saves. It's the fourth time this season Hildebrand has made at least ten saves in a match.

Up next for Concord (1-3, 1-2) is a visit to Tusculum College (TN) for a non-conference match on Wednesday, September 21. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 pm in Greeneville, TN.
