'UNLUCKY NUMBER' LEADS TO DEFEAT AT SETON HILL

There are many ways to look at the number three.

Some say bad things come in threes. Others say three is a magic number.

Concord's Men's Soccer team may not be very fond of it.

Saturday, for the third time in three games, the Mountain Lions gave up three goals. As a result, CU suffered its third loss, a 3-0 setback at Seton Hill, in their WVIAC opener in Greensburg, PA.

The Griffins took the lead on Mike Belsito's goal in the 17th minute. Bovey Masioli added two more goals – the first in the 31st minute, the second in the 37th – to stake the hosts to a 3-0 advantage at halftime.

Seven wasn't a very lucky number for Concord, either.

Concord got seven shots on goal, from seven different players, but Seton Hill goalkeeper Jon DeLuca made seven saves.
CU attempted seven corner kicks to four for SHU.

Concord out-shot Seton Hill 13-12 for the match.

After three matches on the road, the Mountain Lions (0-3, 0-1) will hold their home opener on Wednesday, September 14, against WVIAC rival West Virginia Wesleyan.

The match, part of a doubleheader with women's team, is scheduled to kick off at 4:00 pm at Anderson Field on the CU campus in Athens. Admission is free.
