FAIRMONT STATE SERIES CHANGED

WEEKEND SET SHORTENED TO TWO GAMES

The Concord Baseball team's WVIAC series against Fairmont State has a new look.

The originally scheduled three-game series in Athens was to include a seven-inning doubleheader on Saturday, March 12 and a single nine-inning game the next day.

Instead, the Mountain Lions and Fighting Falcons will meet for a doubleheader on Sunday, March 14. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 pm at Anderson Field. Admission is free.

Sunday will be the WVIAC opener for both teams.

Fairmont State is 0-7, and hasn't played since a 12-0 loss to Millersville University (PA) on February 27 in Williamston, NC.

Concord is 5-8, after a 1-3 week at the annual Savannah (GA) Invitational. The Mountain Lions are 3-0 at home this season.

Sunday's doubleheader is the start of season-long seven-game homestand for Concord.  The Mountain Lions will host defending WVIAC Tournament champion Seton Hill in a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 15, then welcome West Virginia Wesleyan to Athens for a three-game series on March 19-20.
