The Concord Women's Soccer team had known for a while that it had qualified for the WVIAC Tournament.  The Lady Lions have also known that they'd be playing Davis & Elkins in the first round.

What Concord didn't know was where and when the match would be played.  Until today.

The WVIAC has announced that CU and D&E will meet on Monday, October 31, at Buckhannon-Upshur High School in Buckhannon, WV.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm.

The Lady Lions and Lady Senators met once during the regular season – on October 15 -- with D&E winning 2-0 at River Bend Park in Elkins.  However, that pitch is not regulation-size, and NCAA rules mandate that such a field must be used in post-season matches.

Davis & Elkins (7-7-1, 5-3-1) is the #4 seed and has gone 5-2-1 over its last eight matches.  The Senators are 5-3 at home, not including their regular season-finale against Cedarville University (OH) on Saturday, October 29.

Concord (9-7, 5-4) is the #5 seed.  The Lady Lions are 3-6 on the road, but have won eight of their last nine matches overall.  In fact, the only loss over that stretch was against D&E.

Concord has won one WVIAC Tournament, in 2002.  The Lady Lions won the conference's regular season title twice, in 2002 and 2006.
Davis & Elkins is seeking its first tournament title.  The Senators claimed the league's regular-season crown in 2009.

Monday's match will mark the sixth time CU and D&E have met in the WVIAC Tournament, with CU holding a 4-1 advantage.
Concord defeated Davis & Elkins on penalty kicks in a first round match in 2000 and downed the Senators 5-0 in the 2002 semi-finals.
Davis & Elkins posted a 2-0 win in the semi-finals in 2003.
Concord eliminated D&E in the semi-finals in 2006 (1-0) and 2009 (3-2).

The winner of Monday night's match advances to meet #1 seed and defending WVIAC champion West Virginia Wesleyan in a semi-final match on Friday, November 4.  Kickoff will be at 7:00 pm in Buckhannon, WV.

Monday's other first-round match has #3 Shepherd hosting #6 University of Charleston, with the winner visiting #2 Alderson-Broaddus in the semi-finals.

The WVIAC Championship match is scheduled for Sunday, November 6, at the home field of the highest remaining seed.
