The Concord Volleyball team got an up-close look at one of the top teams in the WVIAC Monday night, falling in three sets to West Virginia Wesleyan at the Carter Center.

The Bobcats, who trail only perennial power Wheeling Jesuit in the league standings, defeated the Lady Lions 25-18, 25-20, 25-12.

WVWC hit .351 in winning the first set, cooled to .180 in fending off a late CU challenge to win the second set, then heated up to a sizzling .500 in completing the sweep.

Brytni Willis had four kills for Concord, with Tori Fornadel and Becca Lovejoy (above right) adding three each.

Erin Bond led the Bobcats (14-8, 6-2) with ten kills, with Jessica Pattyn and Paula Renteria adding seven each.  Casey Pattyn posted 42 assists.

Up next for Concord is a non-conference meeting against Mountain State University (WV) on Wednesday, October 12 at the Carter Center.  Match time is 7:00 pm and admission is free.
