There's no disputing that Concord's Women's Basketball team is talented, and capable of contending in the WVIAC.

But the Lady Lions have had difficulty in finding consistency, explaining in part their 2-4 conference record and their 10th-place position in the league standings.

However, in Saturday's visit to defending conference champion Fairmont State, the Lady Lions got a glimpse of what happens when they put together 40 good minutes.

Concord trailed only twice, for a total of 40 seconds, then exploded in the 2nd half to rout the Fighting Falcons 82-54 at Joe Retton Arena.

Camisha Alexander paced Concord with a game-high 29 points, 21 in the first half. The junior from Beckley was an effective 9-13 from the field and 4-6 from three-point range. She also grabbed eight rebounds and nabbed four steals.

Sidney Lindsey added 15 points. Kristin Kidd contributed eight points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals. Freshman Sammi Webster came off the bench to post seven points and seven rebounds in 21 minutes.

Concord opened a six-point lead twice early in the game, but FSU put together a 9-2 run to take a 20-19 lead with 10:35 left in the 1st half. The Lady Lions countered with a 13-4 rally to lead by eight and were ahead 42-34 at halftime.
