CU DROPS 2ND STRAIGHT 1-0 RESULT



In last Saturday's match against Shepherd, it was an early goal – in the 13th minute – that sent the Concord Men's Soccer team to a 1-0 defeat.

Wednesday, at Alderson-Broaddus, it was a late goal that kept the Mountain Lions out of the win column.

The Battlers scored in the 82nd minute to down CU, 1-0, in Philippi, WV.

“It was a heartbreaker,” Concord head coach Steve Barrett said Wednesday night. “We played the best we've played in a long time. But we can't get the ball in the net.”

It was CU's fourth straight defeat and their third 1-0 loss of the season.

The Mountain Lions (0-6-2, 0-4-2 WVIAC) travel to Pennsylvania for a non-conference road match against Shippensburg University on Saturday, October 2. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
