CU ENDS SKID WITH SWEEP AT OHIO VALLEY

Riding an efficient, balanced offense, the Concord Volleyball team eradicated its eight-match losing streak with a three-set sweep of Ohio Valley in a WVIAC match Saturday, September 25.

The Lady Lions hit an impressive .316 in their 25-21, 25-13, 25-17 victory in Vienna, WV.

Amber Miller paced CU with 10 kills, hitting .389. She added four digs and three aces.

Rebecca Lovejoy hit .400 in flooring eight kills. Kayla Martin and Emily Wilson each added five kills, combing to hit .391.

Helen Theisen chipped in four kills and 15 assists. Meredith Shifley also distributed 15 assists. Allie Pennington led Concord in digs, with 13.

The Lady Lions take a break from WVIAC play with a visit to Bluefield College (VA) on Wednesday, September 29. The match begins at 6:30 pm.

Concord's next home match is against Chowan University (NC) on Friday, October 1, at 7:00 pm. Admission is free at the Carter Center.
