TWICE IS NOT NICE

TWO TWO-GOAL RALLIES TOO MUCH FOR CU

Two second-half two-goal outbursts helped Pitt-Johnstown to a 6-1 win over Concord in Men's Soccer on Saturday, September 25 in Johnstown, PA.

The Mountain Cats scored first, and quickly, on Zeke Buchta's goal in the 4th minute. UPJ took a 1-0 lead to halftime, but the Mountain Lions would square matters on Garith Duncan's goal, assisted by Kyle Ryder and Scott Funston, in the 58th minute.

It was Duncan's first goal of the season.

However, UPJ reclaimed the lead only :31 later when Derik Swope scored, assisted by J.P. Schantz. Just 4:19 after that, Mike Kovarik tallied to put the Mountain Cats up 3-1.

Swope would score again in the 78th minute, and, only 28 seconds later, Kevin Kearney would tally to make the score 5-1. Clay Kubrick's goal in the 89th minute closed out the scoring.

Concord fired 16 shots while UPJ ended with 22. The Mountain Cats had an 11-5 advantage in shots on goal. Concord tried six corner kicks to three for the Mountain Cats, and the two sides combined for 35 fouls.
