CROSS COUNTRY SHINES IN BLACKSBURG

BOTH TEAMS 3rd AT VIRGINIA TECH MEET

Both Concord Cross Country teams finished 3rd in the Virginia Tech Alumni Meet on Friday, September 17 in Blacksburg, VA.

The field included three Division I teams – Ohio University, Wake Forest and host Virginia Tech.

“All in all, it was a very solid meet for us,” said CU head coach Mike Cox Friday night. “We had a good bit of improvement from last year's times.”

Dani Pye (left) posted Concord's best overall finish, coming in 17th in the Women's event.
Chelsea Callaway was 23rd, Tabitha Whited 34th, Micalyn Miller 38th, Shawnee Carnett 40th, Katie Backus 41st, Moe Isihara 44th, Cortney Vannatter 47th, Courtney Coon 51st, Diane Rumrill 53rd and Demi Kirk 57th for the Lady Lions.

Robby Peters (left) was CU's top Men's finisher, crossing the line in 19th.
Craig Pritt was 29th, Sterling Snyder 32nd, Szymon Rola 36th, Nathan Rees 38th, Nick Lucento 40th, Brad Dugan 46th, Brent Roark 47th, Brad Ferguson 49th, John Perry 50th and Taylor Monk 57th.
